Some advances

Emphasizing the lake of Matemale.

It is as part of a total plan, in partnership with the village of LesAngles, that a first stage was accomplished in 2007: creation of a signposting on the site and launching of the renovation of the lane around the lake with creation of a pedestrianized way along the road to Matamale. The total plan consists of the development of the forest of Matte and the perimeters of the lake of Matemale by making a course adapted to the practice of sports. A miced lane (bitumen and beaten earth) around the lake of Matemale for the walkers, mountain bikers, roller skiiers, as well as a Finnish lane in the forest of Matte for altitude training of athletes is envisaged. Paula Radcliffe, possessor of the marathon world record and gold medal winner in the  World championships in Helsinki in 2005, will be our patron and the lane will carry her name. An international unveiling, in her presence, is already envisaged. This equipment would allow the promotion of altitude training ia a zone topographically interesting for training as it is flat.

Cost of the operation : 467 000 € TTC. Grants demanded from the State, the Région and the Conseil Général des Pyrénées-Orientales, to the value of  80 %. Participation of the  communes Les Angles, of Matemale and contractors for the pose of signs.
